How can Séjournée help hotels fill their rooms?
By the Séjournée editorial team · Sources checked on · Updated on · Published on
Séjournée can help a hotel obtain content for its marketing. It does not fill the rooms on the hotel’s behalf. A delivered video still needs distribution, a relevant offer and a functioning booking journey.
That distinction prevents expecting a UGC collaboration to include a booking engine, purchased audience or guaranteed occupancy.
Here is where content can contribute.
Content production and commercialisation are different jobs
Séjournée facilitates creator relationships and helps structure deliverables, agreements, rights and collaboration tracking.
Those elements organise production. They do not replace pricing strategy, sales channels or distribution work.
Séjournée’s terms of use describe this role. Our Séjournée review, published by the brand itself, discusses the platform’s benefits and limitations in more detail.
Where a video may help
| Traveller stage | Potential contribution | What must also work |
|---|---|---|
| Discover a property | Show a distinctive experience | Distribution to relevant people |
| Compare options | Explain rooms and services | Understandable information and prices |
| Resolve uncertainty | Answer a practical question | Accuracy and visible conditions |
| Book | Encourage the next step | Availability and a usable booking engine |
| Prepare the stay | Demonstrate practical details | Current information |
Content cannot reliably compensate for a misleading promise or a booking engine that fails on mobile.
Support a real demand opportunity
Consider a fictional hotel seeking more two-night weekday stays. Before filming, the team needs to identify who can book those dates and why the offer suits them.
A video might show the workspace or access to a nearby activity. But the service must actually exist, and the relevant dates must be bookable.
Avoid a generic “visit us” campaign if the business problem concerns a specific period or room category.
Ask instead: which hesitation could we explain or resolve with visual evidence?
Prepare the destination page before the videos
Visitors should find the thing that interested them:
- the correct room or service;
- information consistent with the video;
- essential conditions;
- a clear route to availability;
- a page that works on a phone.
If a video features a terrace but opens an unlabelled room list, it adds work rather than helping the guest choose.
Also make sure heavy media does not delay access to important information or the booking button.
Include distribution in the budget
A delivered video is not a distributed campaign. Decide whether it will appear on social channels, the website, emails or in paid advertising.
Posting on the creator’s account must be explicitly agreed if you want that audience. Its value depends on relevance to your guests, not follower count alone.
Creator posts falling within French commercial-influence rules must be transparent. The Ministry of Economy explains the disclosure requirements.
Measure the journey, not just visibility
Track visits and bookings where your measurement setup permits. Google Analytics campaign parameters can distinguish external links.
Explain limitations including seasonality, pricing, other campaigns, telephone bookings and cancellations. Dashboard attribution does not prove every attributed booking was additional.
The UGC video ROI guide provides a contribution-based calculation with explicit assumptions.
When UGC is not the first priority
If room photographs are outdated, pricing is confusing or booking fails, address those problems first.
A video cannot make a sold-out room available. Your objective may involve different dates, better-informed choices or a different sales mix rather than simply more clicks.
Séjournée helps organise content production. Its contribution to bookings depends on the commercial system in which you use the assets. A limited, clearly measured test is a more useful starting point than an occupancy promise.
Frequently asked questions
Does Séjournée directly provide bookings?
Its role is to facilitate content collaborations between hotels and creators. Distribution, the offer and the booking journey still need to be organised; no booking volume is guaranteed.
Can a video help during quieter periods?
It can support a relevant, well-distributed offer, but does not automatically create demand. Check the target guests, available dates and pricing coherence.
Does the creator need to publish on their account?
Only if that service fits your strategy and has been agreed. Delivered videos can be used on the hotel’s own channels within the authorised rights.
How can you tell whether a collaboration was useful?
Track actual content use, relevant visits and bookings, then assess costs and attribution limits. Increased views alone do not demonstrate profitability.
